Pottery of Revernay
The manufacture of the Revernay sandstone began around 1896 near Sarreguemines. This production, which peaks around 1925-30, is part of the trend towards sandstone art, initiated by Carriès based in Saint-Armand-en-Puisaye, not far from Digoin. After the Second World War, this production was reborn as painted earthenware inspired by Picasso ceramics and Vallauris workshops.
