Jean Picart Le Doux (1902-1982)
Son of the painter Charles Picart Le Doux, the self-educated Jean Picart Le Doux begins in bookbinding and publishing and graphic arts (posters and magazine covers). He won the Grand Prix Poster theater in 1943. Then at the request of designer Jules Leleu, it starts performing tapestries to decorate the ship La Marseillaise. of the same generation as Lurçat, he became vice president of APCT (Association of tapestry-cartonniers painters) and remains very close designs Lurçat. With over 400 original tapestries produced in his lifetime, he is considered a great master of the Aubusson Tapestry. He joined in the 60s pottery of Sant-Vicens near Perpignan, succeeding Jean Lurçat.
