Holmegaard (Denmark)
Glass production began in 1825 on the small island of Holmegaard, in the south of Denmark. At first, Holmegaard produced only green bottles, then launched into the creation of clear glass with the collaboration of master glassmakers from Bohemia. Originally consisting of small workshops in a peat bog, Holmegaard grew into a large modern glass-making group in the 20th century, with which the best Danish artists were associated, including Per Lutken (1916-1998).
