André Baud (1903-1986)
After studying at the School of Fine Arts in Bourges and the School of Applied Arts in Industry in Paris, he won a prize at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in 1925. In 1942, he settled with his wife in Vallauris and produced culinary and utility pottery while creating more decorative pieces. He participated in the "golden age of Vallauris" with Suzanne and Georges Ramié, Robert Picault, Roger Capron, Jean Derval... André Baud was interested in space and astronomy and some of his creations are characteristic of the "space age" period. In 1969, he closed his pottery in Vallauris and moved to Charente.
