MURANO
This tiny Venetian island produces glass for more than eight centuries. The very refined creations of glass know their peak from the 16th century. The prestigious workshops - Ballarin, Barovier and Toso, Seguso, Venini, Cenedese - are still present. Designers and ceramists collaborate with glass makers for the realization of authentic masterpieces. The Museum of the glass at the Giustiniani Palace shelters not less than 4000 pieces from the antiquity to now.
