Very beautiful Amphora pitcher (Czechoslovakia). Decoration of two medallions representing on one side a knight and on the other side a lady in medieval clothes. Brilliant multicolored enamels, on a slightly granular blue background.

DURING THE JUGENDSTIL PERIOD, THE PRODUCTION OF CERAMICS IS VERY IMPORTANT IN AUSTRIA AND MORE PARTICULARLY IN NORTH OF BOHEMIA, IN THE REGION OF TEPLICE. THIS REGION IS BORDER WITH SAXIA, NOT FAR FROM DRESDE AND MEISSEN, UPPER PORK GERMAN. BECOMING CZECHOSLOVAK IN 1918 AND BELONGING TO THE SOUTHERN, IT WAS ANNEXED BY NAZI GERMANY IN 1938 UNTIL 1945 WE CANNOT NAME ALL THE CERAMIC MANUFACTURES THAT WORKED IN THIS AREA, ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT MANUFACTURES IS AMPHORA.
